PASIGHAT, Jul 19: The East Siang District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) and the District Child Protection Unit, Women and Child Development Department organized a daylong orientation and also capacity building meeting on Mission Shakti (DHEW) and Mission Vatsalya Scheme.

The event was held at the Conference Hall of Siang Guest House here today, as part of the 100 days Special Awareness Campaign under Sankalp – Hub for Women Empowerment (HEW).

ICDS deputy director and District Hub for Empowerment of Women nodal officer M Gao highlighted the various interventions under schemes such as Mission Shakti, which focuses on the safety, security, and empowerment of women and girls.

She also emphasized the importance of Mission Vatsalya, a central flagship scheme under the WCD department, aimed at the care and protection of children, particularly those in difficult circumstances. She called for the support and coordination of line departments for the successful implementation of these initiatives.

Representatives from the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), JJB, CDPOs, SJPU, Police Officer, OSC, and CCI also took part in the day-long awareness meeting.

The event saw participation from key figures, including chairperson of the East Siang Child Welfare Committee Lovelina Perme, Members of the CWC district unit, Members of the JJB, Deputy SP (SJPU Ayub Boko), Adv. Mary Tatak (CA-cum-DMC DHEW), Police Officers of WPS Pasighat, Child Development Project Officers, CWO of Observation Home, Superintendent of SEED CCI, and staff members of DHEW and Divisional Level ICDS.
