Itanagar, July 23: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh on Tuesday celebrated its 70th foundation day and also organized a mega awareness camp at Nyeder Namlo here.
Speaking on the occasion, Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board chairman Rolen Dagam urged workers to rededicate themselves to the development of the state.
He appealed to workers to work with responsibility and dedication for the welfare and development of the state.
Dagam said the 1 per cent cess meant for workers should be deposited with the Board and not to the state exchequer, saying it is for the registered workers.
He said if the practice of depositing the cess to the government continues, it will be hard for the Board to continue.
As a resource person, Tadung Yangfo appealed to workers to get registered with the board in order to avail various schemes and welfare programmes.
On the occasion, workers were presented with kits and other items.
Among others, Arunachal unit BMS president Ringu Chapo, general secretary Donik Taling and former Public Liasoning officer to CM Techi Nera were also present.
