PASIGHAT, July 30: As a part of the World Hepatitis Day observance, the Tasi Panggeng Community Health Centre (FRU), Ruksin on Tuesday conducted a free Hepatitis B & C screening test.
The tests were conducted under the National Hepatitis Control Programme (NHCP).
Of the 104 tests conducted only one tested positive while the rest were negative, FRU medical officer in-charge Dr Kadum Jonnom disclosed.
He said an Information Education and Communication activities on transmission, prevention and treatment was carried out by the medical interns from the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, Naharlagun, posted at FRU, Ruksin under compulsory rotating medical internship programme on community medicine posting.
Dr Jonnom also disclosed that medicines for the patient who tested positive were given for free under the NVHCP.
FRU, Ruksin is a designated treatment provider under NVHCP.
