Sagalee, Aug 7: Sagalee MLA Ratu Techi on Thursday inaugurated the new RCC school building of Balapu government upper primary school.
The event was organised by SMC chairman Tana Sania, PR leaders and others and attended by DDSE TT Tara, Papum Pare zilla parishad chairperson Nabam Yakum, Sagalee additional deputy commissioner Yame Higio, Sagalee zilla parishad member Techi Serbang, HoDs and BJP mandal president Techi Takia.
Later, the MLA visited the health and wellness centre at Balapu and interacted with the medical staff.
On learning about the shortage of staff quarters and laboratory for smooth running of the centre, Techi assured to take up the matter on priority.
Responding to a memorandum submitted by organizing chairman Tana Sania seeking additional funds for extension of class rooms, teacher’s quarters, establishment of inter-village residential school, infrastructure development at the health and wellness centre, etc., the MLA assured to take up the proposals in a phased manner.
The MLA also assured to provide Rs 1.50 lakhs for construction of a footpath at the health and wellness centre.
Yakum, in her brief speech, called for coordinated efforts from all the departments for an accelerated socio-economic development in the area.
She assured to provide funds for a panchayat office at Gangte segment.
