PASIGHAT, Aug 10: The Arunachal Pradesh Doctors Association (APDA), East Siang Unit, organized a tree plantation drive today, planting over 100 trees along the highway between Siku River and Ayeng village. The initiative was part of the "Ketir Momir Gokying" campaign, which aims to promote environmental conservation and cleanliness in the region. The campaign was initiated by Mebo Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sibo Passing.
A total of 28 doctors, including APDA president Dr K Perme, district unit president Dr Talung Tali, and Dr Keni Lego, participated in the drive. The event also saw the presence of Mebo ADC Sibo Passing, chairman of the "Ketir Momir Gokying" initiative, Bompang Tayeng, and Gao Buras.
The "Ketir Momir Gokying" campaign is focused on tree plantation and cleanliness efforts around Ayeng Village, aiming to create a greener environment and reduce plastic waste along the Siang and Siku rivers.
Following the plantation drive, a consultative session was held at the community hall "Musup," where medical officer in-charge of the Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre in Pasighat, Dr Oson Borang, educated villagers about the harmful effects of substance abuse. In his concluding remarks, Passing urged the youth of the village to focus on wildlife preservation and to actively combat drug peddling in the area.
