Chera Loku wins bronze
ITANAGAR, Aug 27: Arunachal’s Chera Loku has secured a bronze medal at the 4th World Wushu Taijiquan Championship currently underway in Singapore.
Competing in the Chen Taijiquan event against top athletes from around the world, Loku, a native of Kurung Kumey district, managed to secure bronze for the nation.
She is the daughter of Chera Ajak.
Besides Loku, Arunachal’s Asian Games qualifier Mepung Lamgu had also competed in the tournament. Lamgu, however, had to settle for the 6th position due to an injury.
The World Wushu Taijiquan Championship organized biennially by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), is renowned for its focus on the taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) discipline, which emphasizes patience, control, and balance.
The WTJQC stands out for its dedication to various styles within taijiquan, drawing global competitors who showcase their skills in this ancient martial art.
