NAMPONG, Nov 2: In a significant step towards fostering cross-border cultural ties, Nampong MLA Laisam Simai spearheaded an Indian delegation in constructive discussions with Myanmar officials at the Pangsau Border Hut on Saturday. The focus was on the upcoming Pangsau Pass International Festival (PPIF), 2025.

The Indian contingent included Nampong SDO, Assam Rifles Major Umesh Yadav, PPIF president Tangpa Lungphi, secretary Angoo Mossang, and public leader Simon Ronrang.

They highlighted the necessity of ensuring a peaceful and culturally rich festival. The Myanmar market committee committed to supporting the event, assuring participation from their cultural troupe and readiness to cooperate with their Indian counterparts.

Representing Myanmar were seven committee members, including Town chairman Yongwa Langching, Army Captain Mabithun, and Cultural Secretary Samkhu Hakhun.

Following the discussions, Simai extended his hospitality to the Myanmar delegation, further strengthening the bonds of friendship and collaboration as both sides prepared for the vibrant festival ahead.
