Itanagar, Jan 21: The 18-member ‘Dikrong’ team of Women on Wheels called on Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik at Raj Bhavan here, and briefed him on the expedition and shared their inspiring experiences.
The ‘All Women Car Drive’ season 3 expedition, organized under the patronage of the National Commission for Women, aims to promote the initiatives of Dekho Apna Desh, Road Safety, and Swachh Bharat.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and various state governments in the North East.
During the interaction with the participants from across the country, Parnaik applauded the team’s adventurous spirit and extended warm greetings on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
He highlighted how the expedition offers an opportunity to experience the state’s vibrant culture, unique traditions, and stunning natural landscapes.
The governor encouraged the ‘Women on Wheels’ team to serve as goodwill ambassadors for Arunachal Pradesh.
He spoke about the state’s rapid development, including its focus on hydropower, job creation, and self-sustained growth, while also emphasizing women-led self-help groups and the tourism potential of the state.
Former minister Taba Tedir, APPSC member Rosy Taba and Atul Kulkarni, Chairman of the Amazing Namaste Foundation, organizers of ‘Women on Wheels’, briefed the governor on the expedition and shared the participants' inspiring experiences.
