Itanagar, Jan 28: The Riga Adventure and Music Fest, organized by the Riga circle administration in Siang district, concluded on Sunday.
The week-long event, held from January 23, focused on skill development and promoting adventure tourism in the picturesque village of Riga.
Aimed at positioning Riga as a prime tourist destination, the festival introduced youth to essential skills in hospitality and adventure sports.
The event featured diverse activities such as river rafting, kayaking, zip lining, trekking, hiking, career counseling, jamming sessions, bonfires, sports, musical concerts, and a fashion show, an official communiqué informed here on Tuesday.
Riga Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Philip Jerang highlighted that the event showcased the village’s potential as a tourist hub while equipping local youth with valuable skills through practical training and interactive sessions.
Known for its breathtaking natural beauty and harmonious community, Riga, a designated heritage village in the Siang district, leveraged its unique attributes to attract visitors and promote cultural and environmental awareness.
A standout moment of the festival was the Miss Riga Adventure 2025 pageant.
Oyi Yorni from Shi Yomi district was crowned the winner, with Mipo Tali from Siang district and Aseng Jamoh securing the first and second runners-up positions, respectively. Yorni was also named the Brand Ambassador of Riga Adventure for the year ahead.
The Riga Adventure and Music Fest 2025 not only celebrated the region’s rich heritage and scenic charm but also paved the way for enhanced tourism and youth empowerment, creating new opportunities for the community, the communiqué added.
