Itanagar, Feb 3: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) on Monday announced that the issue concerning the existence of a parallel youth organization under different leadership has been resolved amicably, reaffirming that ANYA remains the sole representative body for the Nyishi youth community.
Addressing a press conference at the Arunachal Press Club here, Gida Punung, chairman of the ANYA Former Forum, clarified the confusion that had arisen due to the existence of another group operating in the same nomenclature for the past three years.
He explained that the other faction of the ANYA, led by Hillang Tadh, was functioning due to miscommunication.
“The miscommunication and confusion are now resolved after multiple rounds of discussions facilitated by the ANYA Former Forum. The outcome is clear—ANYA is the only legitimate youth body representing the Nyishi community, and no parallel organization can claim the same mandate,” Punung stated.
He further asserted that ANYA’s official affiliation with the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) strengthens its position as the primary and recognized youth organization of the community.
"The NES is the apex body of the Nyishi community and ANYA functions under its guidance, ensuring unity and structured leadership," he added.
According to Punung, the leadership structure of ANYA remains unchanged, with Jamru Ruja continuing as president and Tai Rajan as general secretary. Meanwhile, Hillang Tadh and his team have agreed to extend their support to Ruja and his team for the larger interest of the Nyishi community.
With this resolution, ANYA aims to focus on its core objectives of youth welfare, socio-economic development, and cultural preservation, Punung noted. The association also urged all stakeholders to work collectively towards the community’s progress and avoid any further misunderstandings or divisions.
