Itanagar, Feb 3: The launch of the online portals for the Land Information System of Arunachal Pradesh (LISA) and the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) took place at the Civil Secretariat on Monday.

The event was organized by the ICR deputy commissioner in partnership with the land management department.

The initiative aims to standardize the process for registering deeds and documents, facilitating online land revenue payments, and digitizing land records. Additionally, the NGDRS will allow for the online registration of mortgage and gift deeds across the state.

Land Management Minister Balo Raja, during the launch, expressed his hope that these services would benefit many people in the state. He mentioned that the system will initially be rolled out in five districts, with plans to expand it further.

"If there are any issues, the NIC will make necessary adjustments," he assured.

The minister highlighted the advantages of the online portals, stating that the system would reduce processing times, eliminate revenue leaks, and eliminate the need for treasury challans.

He urged the DC of ICR, the land management secretary and other members of the department to work together for the betterment of the state’s residents.

Land management secretary A K Singh congratulated the DC and appreciated the NIC team for their hard work in developing this online platform.

“In our department, we are committed to adopting online services for smoother business processes and improved public service,” he noted.

He described land management as a vast field but emphasized that the launch of LISA and the software dashboard, which allows citizens to pay their annual lease rent, was an important first step.

Singh pointed out that previously, it was a cumbersome process for people to visit the treasury for challans and the DLRSO for submissions, but with LISA, this burden would be eased.

He also mentioned that the system would require minor modifications to better meet people's needs, adding that the department is working on creating an online portal for land allotment and land acquisition processes.

The department’s goal is to make the entire land management system accessible online to reduce unnecessary hardships for the people, he added.

Local MLA Techi Kaso also attended the event.
