Itanagar, Feb 7: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Friday welcomed the Union Budget 2024, lauding its focus on youth empowerment, education, and skill development.

Addressing a press conference, BJYM State general secretary Tame Siang, along with vice president Natung Tajo and secretary Puro Gadi, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government for initiatives aimed at enhancing opportunities for young Indians.

Siang highlighted key provisions, including the expansion of IITs to accommodate 6,500 more students, the establishment of five National Centers of Excellence for skill development, and the launch of 50,000 Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) to foster innovation.

"The budget reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a self-reliant and skilled youth workforce. These measures will significantly boost education and career opportunities for young people in Arunachal and across the country," he said.

Meanwhile, responding to protests by the Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress, the BJYM criticized the opposition, stating that the Congress had "suddenly woken up" out of fear that Modi’s leadership would render the party irrelevant.

"The Modi government has consistently worked for the poor and middle class. The increase in the Income Tax Exemption Limit to Rs 12 lakh is a testament to this commitment, providing direct economic relief to young professionals and families," the BJYM leaders said.

Reaffirming support for Prime Minister Modi’s #ViksitBharat vision, the BJYM reiterated its commitment to the welfare and empowerment of the youth in the state and the nation.
