Itanagar, Feb 7: In a significant move, Yachuli has been proposed as the official headquarters for Keyi Panyor district, replacing earlier suggestions such as Ter Gapin, Sam Sath, or Yachuli itself.

The announcement was made by Yachuli MLA Toko Tatung during a media briefing at his residence in Naharlagun.

The event was attended by the zila parishad chairperson (ZPC), zila parishad members (ZPMs) of Keyi Panyor and land donors from Ter Gapin and Sam Sath.

The decision to the effect, followed extensive consultations with various stakeholders, aimed at ensuring efficient administrative operations for the newly created district.

The proposal will now be submitted to the state government for final approval by the cabinet.

The MLA expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and organizations such as the Nyishi Elite Society, ANSU, AYSU, ANYA, YCEF, and former minister Taba Tedir, for their contributions to the district’s creation.

He emphasized the need for collective responsibility and cooperation to drive the development of Keyi Panyor and its proposed headquarters at Yachuli.
