Itanagar, Feb 12: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has approved the promotion of six officers from the State Forest Service of Arunachal Pradesh to the Indian Forest Service under the Joint AGMUT Cadre.
The promotions have been made to fill vacancies under the promotion quota for the years 2019 and 2020.
The officers included in the 2019 select list are Aduk Paron, born on October 25, 1974, Bijoy Pradhan, born on February 27, 1971, and Poosam Thanga, born on June 22, 1974.
The 2020 select list includes Millo Tamang, born on July 23, 1971, Nani Sha, born on October 2, 1964, and Somkhim Mossang, born on February 12, 1964.
The decision has been taken in accordance with Sub-Regulation 3 of Regulation 7 of the Indian Forest Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1966, a notification issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change said.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein have congratulated the officers on their promotion.
"Congratulations to the six State Forest Service officers from Arunachal Pradesh on their promotion to the Indian Forest Service. Your dedication, hard work & commitment have paid off. Wishing you all great success in your new roles,” Khandu said in a social media post.
Mein also extended his best wishes, stating, “I congratulate the six State Forest Service officers from Arunachal Pradesh on their well-deserved promotion to the Indian Forest Service (IFS).”
