RONO HILLS, Feb 15: Rajiv Gandhi University is set to host the 22nd edition of UNIFEST from February 17 to 19, under the theme "University with Diversity." The festival aims to highlight the cultural richness of the university, fostering unity among students from diverse backgrounds through competitions and performances.
The inaugural ceremony will be attended by Arunachal East Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao, along with Yachuli MLA Toko Tatung and vice-president (protocol) of AAPSU, Nabam Gandhi.
A key highlight of this year’s festival is a tribute to Arunachal Pradesh’s unsung heroes who resisted British rule in NEFA. In their honour, the four competing houses have been named after Tagi Raja, Matmur Jamoh, Langha Pooja, and Khunjing Wangham.
The festival has already begun with preliminary sports and literary competitions. The main events will include contests in dance, music, drama, pageantry, writing, athletics, and cosplay, offering a platform for students to showcase their talents.
Blending tradition with contemporary expression, UNIFEST 2025 is expected to be a vibrant celebration of Arunachal Pradesh’s heritage and youth talent.
