Itanagar, Feb 21: A coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Director of Housing (DOH) here on Friday, to discuss measures for preventing encroachments of government quarters and their premises.

The meeting, attended by Estate Officers, SDPOs, the town planner, and officer-in-charge of various police stations in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), focused on strengthening inter-departmental cooperation to expedite encroachment cases.

The director, in his address, presented a detailed report through a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting the current status of encroachments. He emphasised the need for close coordination among departments and informed about various actions being taken, including legal measures under CCS (CCA) rules, to curb illegal occupations.

During the discussion, the attending officers shared their inputs and proposed strategies to halt further encroachments. They assured stronger coordination and pledged to pursue existing cases with greater urgency to ensure early conviction of offenders.

It was also decided that regular review meetings will be conducted, and details such as government quarter records, satellite images, and GPS coordinates will be shared among relevant departments for reference and action.

The meeting concluded reaffirming the collective commitment to protecting government properties from unauthorised encroachments.
