LIKABALI, Feb 27: The Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP), Lower Siang unit, organized a peaceful rally in Likabali on Thursday to advocate for the protection and preservation of indigenous cultural traditions. The event saw participation from community members and cultural representatives, underscoring the collective commitment to safeguarding the region’s heritage.
Addressing the gathering, IFCSAP Lower Siang president Tayom Mara emphasized that the organization does not oppose any religion but is dedicated to protecting indigenous traditions that face the risk of erosion. He stated that preserving cultural identity is the shared responsibility of the present generation, ensuring it is passed down to future generations.
"Our culture is our identity. If we do not take active steps to protect it now, it will be lost," Mara said, reiterating that the movement is focused solely on cultural preservation without targeting any religious belief.
The rally commenced from Central Kargu Gangi, passing through the market area, medical road, and Higher Secondary road before concluding at Gangi Hall. Participants expressed their commitment to reviving indigenous traditions and urged greater support from the community.
IFCSAP Lower Siang has called for cooperation from all stakeholders, including the government and the public, to support initiatives aimed at preserving Arunachal Pradesh’s unique cultural heritage.
