Pasighat, Mar 4: Industries minister Nyato Dukam on Monday inaugurated the Oyan Bane Gumin Hoyin Dere (Murong), a community hall funded under the North Eastern Council (NEC) with the Rural Works Department (RWD), Pasighat Division, as the executing agency.
Dukam, who is also the guardian minister of East Siang district, lauded the state government’s development initiatives under Chief Minister Pema Khandu, highlighting the transformation of Sille-Oyan, an administrative circle under Ruksin subdivision.
He commended the community members, Panchayati Raj Institutions, gaon buras, youth volunteers of Recovering Warriors, and intellectuals of Oyan for their contributions to regional development.
Stressing the importance of the community hall in preserving socio-cultural traditions, the minister assured support for further infrastructural development, including the construction of a boundary wall.
He also called for collective efforts to combat drug abuse and emphasized hard work, self-reliance, and dignity of labour for the state’s progress.
Addressing the gathering, BJP state president Kaling Moyong underscored the need for preserving local dialects and languages as an integral part of Arunachal’s cultural heritage. He urged all stakeholders to work together under the “Team Arunachal” spirit for holistic development.
MLA Ninong Ering highlighted the significance of youth participation in community-driven initiatives and sought the Guardian Minister’s support in addressing the socio-economic aspirations of the people.
East Siang DC Tayi Taggu encouraged the youth to engage in environmental conservation, public health, hygiene, and education while ensuring the proper upkeep of community assets.
Senior citizen and chief advisor of the organising committee, Boken Pao, expressed gratitude to the state government and the local MLA for fulfilling the long-pending demand for a well-equipped community hall. He also sought continued support for the overall development of Sille-Oyan.
