Namsai, Mar 4: The University-Industry Interlinkage Centre (UILC) at Arunachal University of Studies (AUS), in collaboration with the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, organized a one-day People Education Program (PEP) at the university on Tuesday.
The program aimed to create awareness about employment generation opportunities through KVIC schemes, including the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), SFURTI clusters, and rural industrialization initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, AUS vice-chancellor Ajeya Jha highlighted the role of micro-entrepreneurship in strengthening the economy. He stated that KVIC has contributed significantly to promoting entrepreneurship in rural areas, generating employment across the country.
AUS rector DS Hernwal underscored the importance of fostering entrepreneurship in India, emphasizing that unemployment remains a critical issue that requires sustainable solutions.
Amandeep Saini, a resource person at the event, provided insights into various KVIC schemes and initiatives designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs. He encouraged participants to explore opportunities available under these schemes.
Deputy registrar of AUS, Vipin Rawat, expressed appreciation for KVIC's collaboration with the university in implementing skill and entrepreneurship development programs. He stated that such partnerships are instrumental in supporting small and medium-scale entrepreneurs.
The program concluded with an interactive session, allowing attendees to engage with experts and gain a deeper understanding of the schemes and opportunities available under KVIC.
