Naharlagun, Mar 13: Continuing their crackdown on burglary, Police have successfully recovered three stolen scooties from different locations in Itanagar, Seppa, and Assam over the past few days.
The recovery operation was conducted by a police team led by Naharlagun police station officer-in-charge Inspector K Dev, along with SI V Linggi, head constables Kato Samyor and Punyo Tari, and constables Debojit Borah and Saanu Raj.
The operation was supervised by SDPO Rishi Longdo under the overall guidance of superintendent of police (SP) Mihin Gambo.
One stolen scooty was recovered from Bedeti, under Behali police station in Biswanath Chariali of neighbouring Assam, another from Seppa with assistance from Seppa police station, and the third from Itanagar after the arrest of co-accused Rajiv Munda alias Ambrus Munda (30).
The breakthrough came after the arrest of Taku Tayu, who revealed Ambrus Munda’s involvement. Acting on this information, police apprehended Munda in Itanagar, leading to further recoveries.
Additionally, a stolen high-end camera, taken by Taku Tayu from A-Sector, here last week, was recovered from Munda’s possession, Gambo said in a statement on Thursday.
Police are continuing their investigation to recover more stolen vehicles and identify their rightful owners for proper handover, the SP added.
