Itanagar, Mar 17: The District Health Society of Itanagar Capital Region on Monday organised an outreach session on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) under the National Programme for Prevention & Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases & Stroke (NPCDCS) at Raj Bhavan, here.
The session saw active participation from officers and staff of Raj Bhavan, with health check-ups and counseling services provided to attendees.
Senior medical officer of Raj Bhavan dispensary Dr Jennifer Tayeng highlighted the initiative's goal of raising awareness, promoting early diagnosis, and improving NCD management within the community.
She emphasised the importance of early screening using the community-based assessment checklist (CBAC) for detecting NCD risks and underscored the need for linking Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) with the NCD portal, enabling individuals to securely access and share their digital health records with healthcare providers.
