Kolkata, Mar 17: A five-day Management Development Programme on exports commenced at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kolkata, for 25 entrepreneurs from Arunachal Pradesh. Sponsored by the Department of Trade and Commerce, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the training aims to equip participants with essential knowledge of export documentation, trade policies, and international market opportunities.
The training, scheduled from March 17 to 21, was inaugurated in the presence of OSD to the state minister of trade & commerce, Riakji Duchok, director of trade & commerce, Sonyung Modi, and centre head of IIFT Kolkata, Dr K Rangarajan.
Officials emphasized the significance of export promotion in Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting the state's vast natural resources and diverse agro-climatic zones. The state government is actively working to integrate local businesses into global markets, generating employment and revenue while leveraging the expanding trade infrastructure in the Northeast.
Participants will receive training on export documentation, cross-border market potential, and strategies to align Arunachal Pradesh’s products with international demand. The programme aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of trade barriers, export regulations, and logistical procedures, enabling entrepreneurs to tap into global markets effectively.
The initiative aligns with the government’s broader efforts to enhance connectivity and trade with Southeast Asian countries through improved border trade infrastructure. The state government views capacity-building programmes such as this as crucial in strengthening Arunachal Pradesh’s position in international commerce.
