Kaliabor, Mar 17: A man from Arunachal Pradesh was allegedly robbed in No. 1 Borghuli, Kaliabor, after being lured by a gang with the promise of purchasing bricks at a low price. The victim, identified as Dari Raju, was assaulted and looted by four individuals, including a woman.
According to police reports, Raju was contacted by a group offering bricks at Rs 6 per piece. Trusting the offer, he travelled to No. 1 Borghuli to make the purchase. Upon arrival, he was taken to a house under the pretense of having tea, where he was allegedly attacked and robbed of his mobile phone, a gold chain, and Rs 1.65 lakh in cash.
Following the incident, Raju filed a complaint at the Sollong Patrol Post.
Acting on the report, police arrested a woman identified as Marjina Khatun from No. 1 Borghuli, while the other three suspects initially managed to escape.
A police operation led to the arrest of the remaining accused—Baharul Islam, Nasim Uddin, and Hanan Ali—from Karnataka based on intelligence inputs.
The case is under investigation, and authorities are looking into further details regarding the crime and possible connections of the accused.
