Aalo, Mar 17: A voluntary blood donation camp was successfully organised at the blood centre of General Hospital here on Monday, in collaboration with the Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donor Organisation and the Indian Army.
The camp, held under the theme ‘Donate Blood, Save Life,’ saw the enthusiastic participation of 31 Army officers and jawans, who came forward to donate blood.
The initiative was conducted under the supervision of Dr Rijum Taso Karbak (BCMO), Nyami Doji, and Mojom Ete, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to medical protocols.
The successful drive highlighted the spirit of service and solidarity, reinforcing the crucial role of blood donation in saving lives.
In Yingkiong: A voluntary blood donation camp was successfully organised on Monday by the blood centre at District Hospital here, in collaboration with the Upper Siang Christian Forum (Women Wing).
The event which was held under the motto ‘Give Blood, Save Life,’ collected a total of 11 units of blood.
Upper Siang deputy commissioner Talo Jerang, district medical officer Dr Gepeng Litin and DIPRO Yalik Jerang visited and actively participated in the camp.
The DC commended the Upper Siang Christian Forum for their selfless contribution, emphasising the critical role of voluntary blood donation in saving lives.
Addressing the donors, blood bank officer Dr Katan Patuk, highlighted the importance and benefits of voluntary blood donation. He stressed that professional blood donation is no longer acceptable and that voluntary blood donors play a crucial role in providing safe and sufficient blood supply for those in need.
Voluntary blood donation is an act of selfless service, open to individuals aged 18 to 60 years, in good health, free from transmissible diseases, and with a minimum hemoglobin level of 12.5 g/dl.
Males can donate every three months, while females must maintain a four-month gap between donations.
The event saw active participation from key community leaders, including chairperson of Sikiing Kojee Charitable Society and general secretary of Upper Siang Christian Forum (Women Wing) Mity Jopir Apang, its President Gekyam Jijong and Oyup Tate from the Forum, along with dedicated Christian volunteers from the district.
The initiative reinforced the spirit of community service, ensuring a readily available blood supply for those in need while encouraging more people to join the noble cause.
