Chongkham, Mar 18: In a significant step toward enhancing education quality, school leaders, district officials, and education stakeholders gathered in Chongkham block, Namsai, to celebrate progress in systemic school improvement.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Namsai Deputy Director of School Education’s (DDSE) office and the deputy commissioner, in collaboration with Adhyayan Quality Education Foundation and supported by the GE CSR Foundation, provided crucial resources to local schools.

Seven Government Upper Primary Schools (GUPS) in Chongkham received Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs), ceiling fans, whiteboards, and water filters—resources identified as urgent needs. The support, part of the broader Systemic School Improvement Program (SSIP), aims to create a more conducive learning environment and foster student engagement in one of India’s aspirational districts.

DC C R Khampa, the event’s chief guest, underscored the importance of collaboration in elevating educational standards.

“Education is the foundation of progress. With sustained efforts from the government, educators, and the community, we can create a transformative learning experience for students in Arunachal Pradesh,” Khampa said.

The DC also urged teachers, parents, and community members to work collectively to ensure the success of such initiatives. He emphasized the Arunachal government’s commitment to quality education and encouraged schools to maximize the use of the provided resources.

Special guests included District Planning Officer (DPO) Dr Keshab Sarmah and DDSE Dr Pokdey Yomgam, both of whom reiterated the administration’s commitment to advancing the state’s education system.

The event opened with a welcome address by Chongkham block education officer Suwinwai Longkan who highlighted the significance of these incentives in fostering academic excellence.

“These resources are not just materials—they symbolize our dedication to improving the education system,” Longkan stated.

Following the introduction, officials distributed the resources to school representatives, demonstrating the government’s resolve in strengthening the region’s educational infrastructure.

DPO Dr Sarmah acknowledged schools that successfully implemented their action plans in collaboration with the Adhyayan Foundation. He urged teachers to remain diligent in their duties, stressing that true professional satisfaction stems from dedicated service. Meanwhile, DDSE Dr Yomgam highlighted the department’s efforts to improve teacher attendance and implement robust performance tracking systems, reinforcing a culture of accountability.

Closing the program, Taniskha Lokhonary, programme associate at Adhyayan Quality Education Foundation, provided an overview of the SSIP and its achievements. Expressing gratitude to the attendees, she encouraged continued efforts to ensure every school benefits from similar incentives in the future.

The distribution program serves as a milestone in Chongkham’s education landscape, equipping schools with essential tools and reinforcing the government’s commitment to systemic growth, officials said.

As Arunachal Pradesh continues to push for improved educational standards, the collaborative efforts between government agencies and non-profits signal a promising path forward for students and educators alike, they added.
