Pasighat, Mar 18: As a part of its Eco-Clean Mebo Mission, residents of Bodak village along with its partner Megu Welfare Society on Tuesday planted more than 300 ornamental and other plant saplings in and around the village, and the approach road up to the Trans Arunachal Highway covering about 2 kms.

Residents of the village including office bearers and members of the Megu Welfare Society (MWS) enthusiastically participated in the plantation drive.

The main objective was to achieve the ‘Pun:lek’ mission of Bodak village, which aims to be the floral village of the state.

MWS president Ganpang Megu and general secretary Ojing Megu along with Bodak Welfare Society general secretary Mido Tayeng promised to take progressive steps towards making Bodak a floral village.

On October 26 last, the Eco-Clean Mebo Mission launched the ‘Pun:lek’ to make Bodak a floral village by planting ornamental and flowering plants.’

The mission ‘Pun:lek’ which is derived from ‘Appun Alek’ (group of flower), aims to plant many flowering/ornamental trees and other smaller and different species of flowers in the village surroundings and its approach road of Bodak village up to certain stretches of Trans-Arunachal Highway which is already popular among tourists visiting the region.
