Yupia, Mar 20: More than 500 residents from Mengio and Silsango circles benefited from the Seva Aapke Dwar camp held at Mengio on Wednesday.
The camp was inaugurated by zila parishad member Nabam Yazar, in the presence of deputy commissioner Jiken Bomjen, Sagalee ADC Yigio Yame, heads of offices, goan buras, and public.
During the event, Yazar encouraged the public to take advantage of the services offered by various departments. She visited all the stalls set up by the departments and appreciated their efforts in providing essential services to the people.
Both the DC and ADC expressed their satisfaction with the successful conduct of Sewa Aapke Dwar in a remote block like Mengio, acknowledging the significance of such outreach initiatives.
Mengio EAC Chukhu Taba, extended his gratitude to the DC, ADC, ZPM, PRI leaders, GBs, CBO members of Mengio block, officers, officials, and the locals of Mengio and Silsango circles for their collective efforts in making the event a grand success.
At Ayeng: The East district administration on Thursday organised a similar camp at Ayeng Village under Mebo sub-division, benefiting around 405 people through various government and banking services provided by 25 departments.
The outreach camp was inaugurated by Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng, in the presence of DC Tayi Taggu, ADC Sibo Pasing, Jt DHS T Tali, ZPM Oter Tali, Lead Bank Manager P Basumatary, HoDs, nodal officer of the camp Tatak Mibang, and GBs.
As part of the initiative, Tayeng and DC Tayi Taggu distributed solar lamps to twenty women weavers of the village under the small clusters development programme (Weaving), under the union Textiles ministry.
This effort aims to enhance weavers' productivity and support local artisans.
Interacting with officers and beneficiaries, Tayeng emphasised the need for high-quality handloom and traditional products with value addition under the "Vocal for Local" initiative. He highlighted that improving the quality of local products would enhance their competitiveness, leading to better income generation and increased self-employment opportunities for weavers and artisans.
Additionally, Tayeng distributed thirty Soil Health Cards to farmers of Ayeng village under the PM Flagship Scheme, aimed at improving farm productivity.
The district administration, in collaboration with the IPR department, also conducted a media advocacy and awareness program at the outreach camp.
The initiative aimed to disseminate information on various Central and State flagship schemes and government services, ensuring greater awareness among the general public and target beneficiaries.
At Longding: Mentor secretary Taru Talo inaugurated the Seva Aapke Dwar service camp at Pongchau headquarters, benefiting over 800 residents with essential government services.
The initiative primarily focused on opening bank accounts for students and the public and assisting with Aadhaar enrollments, both of which are crucial for accessing government schemes and social assistance.
Recognising the overwhelming response, Longding deputy commissioner Bekir Nyorak, instructed all line departments to ensure that those left out receive services in follow-up camps.
Another such camp is scheduled for March 24, at Lawnu Circle to extend these benefits further.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Talo chaired the district level monitoring committee (DLMC) meeting which focused on reviewing the implementation of various government schemes and projects, particularly ensuring that the targets under the 25 Chief Minister's Action Points are met.
A critical issue highlighted during the discussion was the severe staff shortage across multiple departments. Several administrative officers are currently handling multiple responsibilities, including Tax and Excise, Labour and Employment, District Art and Culture, and Transport.
Additionally, the deputy director of school education (DDSE) reported that 27 schools in the district are being managed by only one teacher each, exposing a significant strain on the education system.
Talo acknowledged these challenges and assured that the matter would be escalated to the appropriate authorities for early resolution.
The series of initiatives under Seva Aapke Dwar and the DLMC review meeting reflect the administration’s commitment to improving governance, service accessibility, and addressing pressing concerns in the district.
