Anini, Apr 3: The third edition of the Eco-Adventure Camp in Anini concluded on Wednesday, with participants and organisers underscoring the importance of sustainable tourism and community engagement in promoting adventure travel in the region.

The camp, which began on April 1, was inaugurated by Anini deputy commissioner Pagli Sora and witnessed participation from tourism stakeholders including local entrepreneurs, travel agencies and community members. Organised by the Arunachal Photography Club in collaboration with the Department of Youth Affairs and the Department of Tourism, Dibang Valley, the event aimed to build capacity among tourism operators while encouraging environmentally responsible practices.

Technical sessions conducted during the camp covered a wide range of subjects including homestay promotion, tour operation strategies, trekking safety protocols, wilderness first aid, and experiential tourism. Photo walks and mobile photography workshops were also held, allowing participants to capture the region’s natural beauty. A village walk to Gipulin village provided an immersive cultural experience for attendees.

At the valedictory function, zila parishad chairperson of Dibang Valley, Theko Tayu, appreciated the efforts of the organising team and highlighted the potential of such initiatives in promoting tourism at the grassroots level.

Arunachal Photography Club president Mrinal Bengia expressed satisfaction over the participation and urged continued efforts to develop Anini as a destination for adventure tourism.

Organisers noted that the camp served as a step forward in integrating local communities into the tourism value chain while maintaining ecological sensitivity in one of the state’s most scenic regions.
