Itanagar, Apr 9: The All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organization (AAPYO) has called for immediate intervention following reports of drug abuse and trafficking incidents within the premises of the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar.

In a memorandum to the government, the AAPYO expressed serious concern over the alleged activities and described the situation as alarming.

The organization termed the incident a direct affront to the dignity of governance and criticized the failure of law enforcement to prevent such activities in a key administrative zone. It stated that allowing criminal networks to operate within the Secretariat sends a negative message to the public and undermines the credibility of the state administration.

The youth body urged the government to initiate an immediate investigation into the incident and implement stricter surveillance and security measures in and around the Secretariat offices. Highlighting the Secretariat’s role as the administrative backbone of the state, AAPYO warned that inaction would further erode public trust in governance.

The AAPYO emphasized that decisive action would not only help restore the sanctity of the Secretariat but also serve as a strong deterrent against similar incidents.

The organization called on the government to treat the matter with urgency, stating that the rise in drug-related activities is a growing crisis that demands attention at the highest level.
