Changlang, Apr 10: Health & Family Welfare minister Biyuram Wahge, who also serves as the Guardian Minister for the Tirap-Changlang-Longding (TCL) region, on Thursday chaired a district-level review meeting here.
The meeting was attended by Legislative Assembly speaker Tesam Pongte, MLAs Laisam Simai (Nampong) and Hamjong Tangha (Changlang South), along with the deputy commissioner, superintendent of police, and heads of various departments.
The minister reviewed the overall developmental progress in the district and emphasised key priorities such as strengthening education, improving healthcare services, promoting sustainable livelihoods, ensuring law and order, and driving clean and green development.
He also took stock of long-pending infrastructure projects and urged officials to fast-track their completion.
Discussions included the progress of the Frontier Highway, the 132 kV transmission line, and the Assam–Arunachal boundary accord.
Earlier in the day, Wahge flagged off an ambulance for the primary health centre in Yadam. The ambulance was donated by Pongte under the MLA local area development (LAD) fund of the Changlang North constituency.
The minister later visited the district hospital, where he interacted with medical staff and reviewed the healthcare facilities, reiterating the government’s commitment to improving health services in the region.
