Itanagar, Apr 11: In a move to strengthen security and restore peace in the insurgency-affected Tirap, Changlang, and Longding (TCL) districts, a high-level security review meeting was held on Thursday.

Chaired by Home Minister Mama Natung, the meeting, held in Changlang, focused on the current activities of underground groups in the region and the countermeasures being taken by the security forces.

25 Sector Assam Rifles commander Brigadier Sarabjeet Singh presented a detailed report on these operations and initiatives led by 9 Assam Rifles.

Key stakeholders discussed not only security strategies but also government efforts to bring insurgents back into the mainstream and rebuild public trust. Emphasis was laid on rehabilitation of former militants and fostering stronger community engagement.

State DGP Anand Mohan, IGP (Law & Order) Chukhu Apa, IGP (TCL) P N Khrimey, DIG Operations (CRPF) Prabhakar Tripathi, 31 Assam Rifles commanding officer Col Dushyant Singh Lamba, 186 Bn CRPF CO Dharmendra Kr Singh, Major Rahul Siddharth from 25 Sector Assam Rifles, along with Changlang DC and SP attended the meeting.
