Namsai, Apr 11: A detergent powder manufacturing unit, Punaai Care Pvt Ltd, producing products under the brand name "APRIL," was inaugurated at Piyong on Friday by Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Namsai deputy commissioner CR Khampa, Piyong circle officer Kalen Saroh, the Ningroo chief, heads of departments, gaon burahs, and other community members.
Addressing the gathering, Namchoom congratulated the young entrepreneurs behind the initiative and encouraged them to avail various government schemes to further strengthen their venture. He also advised collaboration with local Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to enable the display of their products alongside SHG items at exhibitions.
He described the initiative as an example for other youth and emphasized its potential to generate local employment opportunities.
Khampa commended the entrepreneurs for launching the startup despite limited resources, terming it a strong example of self-reliance among educated youth. He urged the entrepreneurs to apply for schemes such as the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Swavalamban Yojana for financial assistance. He further assured that the district administration would extend support to promote the brand and encouraged other departments to assist in the initiative.
Punaai Care Pvt Ltd. is currently operated by two young entrepreneurs with three employees.
Managing director Kenshwe P Khrime stated that "Punaai," meaning "grandfather," symbolizes the nurturing spirit and commitment embodied by the startup. The unit presently manufactures detergent powder and plans to expand into other cleaning products shortly.
