"Regarding the status of Arunachal, there should be no confusion. I think it will be best for the Chinese government to accept the status of Arunachal," Rijiju stated.
New Delhi, Apr 17: Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday said that it is best for the Chinese government "to accept the status of Arunachal Pradesh".
In an interview with ANI, Rijiju said, "Regarding the status of Arunachal, there should be no confusion. I think it will be best for the Chinese government to accept the status of Arunachal, and let us (India and China) remain friendly."
"It is not proper why they are creating problems with visas for people from Arunachal," Kiren Rijiju said while recalling his visit to China during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
He said, "In 2008, there was no problem and I had travelled widely. Beyond Beijing, I went to Shanghai and many other beautiful places."
"I think PM Modi is taking the right posture and ultimately the Chinese will have to understand that Arunachal is an issue which cannot be compromised. It is a settled case. Raking up the issue or creating new maps or giving new names to the places will not help. Because the reality on the ground cannot be changed," Rijiju said. (ANI)
