Itanagar, Apr 24: Grief and anger swept across Arunachal Pradesh as citizens, organizations, and community leaders united in mourning the tragic loss of Indian Air Force Corporal Tage Hailyang, who was martyred in the recent Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

The attack, which claimed 26 innocent lives, has sparked a statewide outcry demanding justice and strong action against those responsible.

The Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP), the apex employees’ body of the state, issued a strongly worded condemnation of the “barbaric act” and called for the “toughest action” against the terrorist group and their perpetrators.

In a heartfelt message, CoSAAP expressed profound sorrow over the death of Corporal Hailyang, hailing him as a brave son of Arunachal Pradesh. Born to Tage Tade and Yagiang in Tajang village of Lower Subansiri, Hailyang was on leave and vacationing with his newlywed wife when he was singled out and killed after terrorists identified him as an IAF personnel through his ID card.

CoSAAP offered prayers for the departed soul and urged the state government to provide immediate relief and support to the bereaved family. The organization pledged moral and emotional solidarity with the family in this hour of grief, urging the public to remember Hailyang’s ultimate sacrifice.

The Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) also extended its deepest condolences to the family, stating that Corporal Hailyang’s “courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.” The society joined others in praying for strength and peace for the family and friends left behind.

Adding to the wave of emotional tribute, the Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) on Wednesday organized a candlelight vigil at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here to honor the fallen and demand accountability.

Speaking at the vigil, APYC president Tarh Johny said, “This is not just the loss of a soldier—this is an attack on the soul of India. We will not stay silent. Arunachal stands tall, united, and demands justice.”

Another youth leader added, “We may be from a small state, but our resolve is mighty. Pakistan-backed terror has taken one of our own. We will never forget Corporal Hailyang’s name or his sacrifice.”
