Itanagar, Apr 24: Governor K T Parnaik on Thursday extended his warm greetings to the people of the state, particularly the Puroik and Tangsa communities, on the festive occasions of Gumkum Gumpa and Moh-Mol.

Highlighting the essence of Gumkum Gumpa, the governor described it as a celebration of reunion, renewal, and resilience.

“The Puroik community, with its unique heritage and enduring spirit, holds a cherished place in the rich mosaic of our state,” he said.

Acknowledging the developmental challenges in some regions, Parnaik expressed confidence in a brighter future driven by collective support and determination.

He urged the Puroik community to continue embracing education, health, and empowerment, and to actively engage with welfare programs aimed at holistic development.

“Let us walk together with mutual respect and shared dreams, building a future that honors our traditions while embracing progress,” the governor added.

In a separate message, Parnaik also conveyed his wishes to the Tangsa community on the occasion of Moh-Mol. He noted that the festival, rooted in agricultural traditions, marks the start of the sowing season and reflects hope, gratitude, and renewal.

“Moh-Mol is more than just a festival, it is a celebration of the Tangsa people’s vibrant culture, deep connection with nature, and the values passed down through generations,” he said, emphasising the importance of preserving cultural heritage for future generations.

The governor concluded by offering prayers for a bountiful harvest, peace, and unity among all communities of Arunachal Pradesh.
