Basar, Apr 24: In a concerted effort to accelerate development across Lepa Rada district, animal husbandry & veterinary and fisheries secretary Hage Tari, who is also the designated mentor secretary for the district, chaired a comprehensive review meeting, here on Thursday.

The meeting, held in conjunction with the monthly district level monitoring committee (DLMC) gathering at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall, brought together all heads of departments and representatives from various public sector undertakings (PSUs) working in the district.

The session aimed to evaluate the progress of key developmental projects, address implementation challenges, and ensure effective coordination among the executing agencies.

Adding significance to the event, Basar MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi, underlined her active interest in overseeing the development initiatives in her constituency.

Deputy commissioner Atul Tayeng welcomed the dignitaries and expressed appreciation for their involvement in the district's development review process.

The meeting began with a review of action plans based on the outcomes of the recent deputy commissioners’ conference. Stakeholder departments presented their action taken reports (ATRs), and the HoDs followed up with detailed PowerPoint presentations outlining their departments’ achievements and providing updates on projects that are completed, ongoing, or yet to commence.

The presentations also brought to light specific challenges hampering smooth execution, which were noted by the mentor secretary for necessary escalation and redressal.

In her address, Dirchi emphasised the importance of timely completion of all ongoing projects while maintaining high quality standards. She specifically pointed out the urgent need to relocate transmission poles at the JNV school site in Dari and to develop a playground at the Government Model College in Basar.

The MLA further highlighted the necessity of operationalising the central divisional commissioner’s office in Basar at the earliest, stating that it would greatly enhance administrative accessibility for the public.

The mentor secretary stressed the importance of thorough planning during the preparation of detailed project reports, noting that careful consideration at the planning stage is essential to ensure the sustainability of infrastructure and services.

He expressed optimism about the district’s agricultural and horticultural potential, citing the region’s favorable climate and fertile soil as key advantages that could drive economic growth.

Tari also assured that the issues raised by the departments would be taken up at the appropriate levels to find effective solutions for the district’s development.

Later in the day Tari, accompanied by Dirchi, DC, DySP Denim Boje and other officials, visited the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) campus at Bam, which is nearing completion.
