Namsai, Apr 24: A composite awareness workshop under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme was conducted on Monday at the Multi-Purpose Cultural Hall in Namsai, aiming to enhance awareness of industrial development opportunities and government schemes for entrepreneurs in Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring Assam.
The event, organised by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), in coordination with the state government, was attended by joint secretary of MSME Ateesh Kumar Singh, secretary (industries) Bullo Mamu, deputy commissioner of Namsai CR Khampa, directors of MSME Vinamra Mishra and Ankita Pandey, along with local entrepreneurs and government officials.
Addressing the gathering, Namsai MLA Zingnu Namchoom called for the establishment of large industries in the region to create ancillary industrial growth. He also emphasised the need to develop local mandis for fair marketing of agricultural produce and urged entrepreneurs to take full advantage of the workshop to resolve their challenges.
Singh stressed the importance of formalising MSME units to access financial support, market linkages, and other government-backed schemes. He urged entrepreneurs to register their enterprises to become eligible for a range of support measures under the RAMP initiative.
Mamu briefed participants on the Arunachal Pradesh Industrial Development and Investment Policy 2025 and encouraged stakeholders to actively engage with the initiatives under the RAMP programme. She highlighted the potential for industrial growth and economic inclusion, particularly in the North Eastern Region.
Khampa shared that 1,400 MSME units in Namsai district have been registered under the UDYAM portal and outlined the region’s industrial prospects. He thanked the ministry of MSME for conducting the event in Namsai and called upon entrepreneurs to benefit from the outreach.
The workshop included two technical sessions. The first session focused on access to finance, market promotion, and mechanisms for addressing delayed payments. Presentations covered the Credit Guarantee Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE), the Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS), the TEAM Initiative, and the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) portal.
The second session addressed inclusion and diversity, featuring presentations on the UNNATI scheme, women-centric initiatives, and MSME schemes specifically tailored for the north-eastern region. The state’s industrial policy for 2025 was also discussed in detail.
Officials noted that the event aimed to bridge information gaps among local businesses and promote the formalisation of the MSME sector, which is seen as a crucial component for economic growth and employment generation in the region.
