Changlang, Apr 24: In a significant breakthrough under Operation Dawn, the Changlang police on Wednesday seized 494.31 grams of suspected heroin and Rs 1.95 lakh in suspected drug proceeds from a woman peddler at Wagun-I village under Bordumsa police station.

The operation was conducted by a team from the Bordumsa police station, which acted swiftly on credible intelligence inputs. The contraband and cash were recovered during a search operation carried out in the early hours of the day.

Police said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway.

The seizure marks another major success in the ongoing crackdown against drug trafficking in the region under the banner of Operation Dawn, the police added.
