Pasighat, June 10: Sonalika Jiwani of the 2017 AGMUT IAS cadre assumed charge as the new deputy commissioner of East Siang district on Tuesday, expressing her commitment to further strengthening public service delivery and development efforts in the region.
Taking over the responsibilities from outgoing deputy commissioner Tayi Taggu at the DC office here, Jiwani stated her intention to build upon the foundation laid by her predecessor.
She highlighted her interest in advancing urban sector development, noting that several projects are in the pipeline and emphasising focused implementation of government schemes to ensure their benefits reach people at the grassroots.
Speaking during her interaction with additional deputy commissioner (headquarters) Tatling Pertin, administrative officers, heads of departments, and staff present at the occasion, Jiwani underlined the importance of dedication, work ethics, and teamwork. She said that collective efforts from Team East Siang would be essential in sustaining the district’s performance across sectors.
Jiwani also expressed confidence that the experience and expertise of district officials, combined with public cooperation, would contribute meaningfully to the continued progress of East Siang.
