Daporijo, Jun 24: The Upper Subansiri district unit of the Arunachal Frontier Highway Development Committee (AFHDC) has urged authorities to take immediate measures to clear the road connecting Lower Subansiri to Daporijo, which has been blocked following continuous heavy rainfall in the region.

AFHDC president Leyu Boto Nilling said that several portions of the strategic highway remain inaccessible due to landslides and debris triggered by persistent downpours over the past few days. He called for prompt intervention to restore connectivity and prevent further disruption to vehicular movement and supply chains.

The committee stated that the road forms a vital corridor for communication and transport in the central zone of the state and its prolonged closure has affected local residents, particularly in remote areas that depend on the route for essential services and goods.

Nilling appealed to the departments concerned to deploy necessary machinery and manpower to expedite the clearance work.
