Itanagar, Jun 24: Newly appointed chairman of the State Council for IT & e-Governance (SCITeG), Nyamar Karbak has called for a strong push toward cyber security awareness and responsible use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), across all levels of society.

Highlighting growing concerns over cyber threats and the misuse of tools like deep fake technology, he stressed the urgent need for public education and capacity-building to safeguard citizens and institutions in the digital age.

“Responsible and informed use of technology is no longer optional, it is a societal imperative”, Karbak said while addressing a review meeting with director of the IT Council Neelam Yapin Tana, and other senior officials, here on Tuesday.

The chairman proposed comprehensive efforts to educate MLAs, senior officials, and the general public on digital literacy and cyber security as a way to build a resilient and secure digital ecosystem.

The meeting, held to assess the progress of ongoing IT and e-Governance projects, marked a significant milestone in aligning the Council’s vision with Arunachal Pradesh’s broader digital transformation goals.

Karbak also emphasised the need to develop a one-stop digital platform to deliver all IT-related public services in a streamlined manner.

He proposed the creation of a unified mobile application to provide easy, transparent, and efficient access to a wide range of government services for citizens across the state.

Appreciating the sincere efforts made by the Council in advancing various IT initiatives across departments, Karbak expressed satisfaction with the progress so far.

He assured the Council of his full support in further scaling up these initiatives to realise the vision of a digitally empowered Arunachal Pradesh.
